Guys, I grew up in this house. Family owned it for many years starting in 1960. House was built in 1800s. Statue, don't know what you're talking about. When we moved in the house hadn't been lived in for many, many years. Full of furniture, numbers on room doors, just closed up when someone gave up on running it as a Lodge. We bought it for about $6000.

This home was built in 1904, not in the 1880's.

It takes about an hour for first-time hikers to climb it (assuming you're already in good shape). I recently climbed it in 66 minutes including a few breaks.

This house burned one night in 1975. I believe that it was after the fire that the buffalo statue was lost.

Suggestion for future editors: When the building is completed, either redraw the polygon around the building footprint, or else leave this one as a "grounds tag" and add a new tag for the building (whichever makes more sense).

Note: While this is technically a private residence, the identity of the owner is well-publicized, apparently with his blessing. For example here, on the official website of the city of Manitou Springs: http://manitousprings.org/rockeys-storybook-art-studio And in this newspaper article: http://www.csindy.com/coloradosprings/the-rockey-road-to-art/Content?oid=1110602

Nestled at the Southwest corner of the Garden of the Gods Park lies the historic Garden of the Gods Trading Post.
In the early 1920's Charles Strausenback built the Trading Post to resemble the homes of the Pueblo Indians. Since that time, the Trading Post has expanded 6 times to become Colorado's largest Trading Post.
Featuring Colorado Fine Artists, Traditional and Contemporary jewelry, Native American jewelry, all found in the in the Southwestern Art Gallery. Traditional Colorado gifts and souvenirs and the Balanced Rock Cafe complete with Buffalo burgers compliment the Trading Post experience.

It was quite the ride. Two cars and one cable. I remember riding it in 1960. It was cold at the top. Not as exciting as the Cog Railway, but a good ride none-the-less.
